  • Since it’s formation in 2015, Australian Women in Wine has been instrumental in advocating for a more inclusive and gender equal industry. From grand, showcase events like hosting awards ceremonies in London, New York and Sydney, to slogging it out behind the scenes lobbying authorities, the work of Australian Women in Wine has moved the industry forward for the better – but there’s still a long way to go.

2025 Awards Dinner

  • The Australian Wine Industry Awards returns for 2025, continuing in partnership with McWilliam’s Wines and Mount Pleasant Wines to present both the Maurice O’Shea Award and McWilliam’s Wines Excellence in Action Award.

    This year marks the 35th anniversary since the founding of the Maurice O’Shea Award in 1990 by the McWilliam family to pay homage to Mount Pleasant’s legendary winemaker Maurice O’Shea.

    The 2025 Australian Wine Industry Awards will be presented at an exclusive event at Adelaide Town Hall, SA on 20th July 2025, in conjunction with the Australian Wine Industry Technical Conference (AWITC), with master of ceremonies, Katie Spain. The evening includes a special three-course menu, with wines selected by these two distinguished wineries; McWilliam’s & Mount Pleasant and live music.

Fat Farmers Run/Walk

  • All welcome! Join Fat Farmers for a run/walk at the 19th AWITC along the River Torrens. From walking enthusiasts to running professionals, this event is for you.

    Fat Farmers started in 2012 when Greg Hean, Ben Wundersitz and Scott Hoyle (all farmers near Maitland on Yorke Peninsula, SA) started going to the new local gym. They were over 40 and joked about becoming "Fat Farmers" now they were no longer playing footy. 

    Their mission is to inspire and encourage farmers and those living in rural communities to improve their health and wellbeing through physical activity.
