Mitchell Taylor is the third-generation Managing Director of Taylors Wines. After completing a Bachelor of Commerce at UNSW he worked in London in a large stockbroking firm. In 1988, Mitchell’s passion for the wine industry led him back to Australia. He joined Taylors Wines, working across all facets of the family business, from export and finance director to winemaker. Mitchell completed vintages as a winemaker from 1989-97 while studying for his Bachelor of Science – Oenology at Charles Sturt University, which he completed in 1995. In his role today, Mitchell oversees all aspects of the business. An experienced winemaker, he maintains a hands-on role, supervising winemaking activities to ensure the quality and consistency of Taylors wine. Mitchell’s further commitment to the Australian wine industry is reflected in his involvement with key industry associations. He is a Director of Wine Australia, Chair of Wine Australia Marketing Committee, Australian Grape & Wine Medium Winemakers Committee, Director of Australia’s First Families of Wine and Director of the Drinks Association.
