Dr Michael Roach completed his PhD at Flinders University on protein structural modelling and simulating protein-ligand interactions for some malarial enzymes. He has since moved from protein to DNA and is now a genomics Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Australian Wine Research Institute. Mike is currently investigating the genomics of wine spoilage microorganisms and grapevine pathogens, as well as unravelling the heritage of some of the oldest grapevine cultivars. Michael will address Population sequencing reveals clonal diversity and ancestral inbreeding in the grapevine cultivar Chardonnay in Session 9. Fresh Science B on Wednesday.
