McWilliam’s Maurice O’Shea Award Dinner
For the second time, the McWilliam’s Maurice O’Shea Award Dinner will be held in partnership with the AWITC, serving as the conference dinner and the highlight of the 17th AWITC social program. The dinner honours the winner of the McWilliam’s Maurice O’Shea Award, which recognises an individual, brand, institute, activity or entity that has made a historically significant contribution to the Australian wine industry. This year’s dinner will be held at 7pm on Monday, 22 July 2019 at the Adelaide Oval, just a stroll across the footbridge from the Adelaide Convention Centre. Discounted dinner tickets ($199) are available to conference delegates through the AWITC Secretariat Office on [email protected] or (08) 8313 6696. Non-delegates can purchase tickets from McWIlliam’s through EventBrite.
As soon as the Tuesday afternoon plenary session finishes, delegates can move straight into WineTech for the AWITC networking function. Held in the exhibition space from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Tuesday 23 July, this event provides a great opportunity to chat to exhibitors and other delegates while enjoying Australian wine and canapés. Immediately following the final plenary session, the style tasting on the afternoon of Wednesday, 24 July 2019 is the last social event of the conference! This is a chance to discuss everything you’ve heard and seen during the conference while tasting wines that showcase the wide variety of styles produced across Australia.
