The Winemakers’ Federation of Australia (WFA) and the Australian Wine Industry Technical Conference Inc. (AWITC) are joining forces to deliver a combined business and technical conference for the Australian wine industry in 2016.
The 16th Australian Wine Industry Technical Conference and WFA’s Outlook Conference will be held together in Adelaide from July 23-28 2016.
This alliance will bring together comprehensive industry policy, business and marketing content with the latest technical breakthroughs in grapegrowing and winemaking. Both conferences will be complemented by the Australian Wine Industry Trade Exhibition (AWITE) – Australia’s premier showcase of wine technology, equipment and services.
Federation Chief Executive Paul Evans said partnering with AWITC would give industry a must-attend showcase next year.
“Partnering with the AWITC and bringing Outlook to the technical conference will give grapegrowers and winemakers a place to discuss ideas but also to learn and share experiences and drive the national policy agenda in new ways,” he said.
AWITC Chair, Dr Dan Johnson, welcomed the partnership between the two events: “This combined event will work to close the gap between the technical and business sides of our industry, bringing new perspectives to discussions of industry direction and profitability.”
“The aligning of the two conferences will also allow us to deliver additional value to existing and new event partners.”
Minister for Agriculture, Food and Fisheries Leon Bignell said the conferences reflected South Australia’s status as the nation’s premium wine producer.
“The State Government is extremely committed to South Australia’s premium wine industry,” Mr Bignell said.
“To remain internationally competitive we must remain at the cutting edge of wine technology. The exchanges of ideas at the conferences are a vital part of ensuring our industry has the best and latest technology and information at our disposal.”
Registrations for the combined event will open in February 2016.
